The Technion campus is one of the largest and most beautiful universities in Israel, extending over a 1.2 square km area of pine woodlands on Mount Carmel. To accommodate the different needs of its diverse student body, campus housing is divided into sub-communities of different densities and housing types, offering comfortable and well-appointed double and single occupancy as well as one and two bedroom apartments. The majority of Israeli undergraduate students are in their early twenties (entering university after their military service), most are single yet some are already married or have started a family. Entering this mix is a growing population of international students arriving to Technion right after high school or their freshman year. Technion’s varied accommodation options are described below.

Lower Campus Residence (Rifkin Village, known as ‘Tachton’)
Technion’s Lower Campus Residence complex is reserved for single undergraduate students as well as students enrolled in the Pre-University programs and the Practical Engineering Program. The dormitories are located near the main Technion entrance (by the Neve Shaanan Gate) – please refer to the following maps: Google map; Campus map (pdf).
Undergraduate students share a split-level double room. Students enrolled in the Pre-University programs are housed three to a room.
Each resident is provided with TV and WiFi connections and the following furnishings: a bed (mattress included), desk, chair, wardrobe closet, refrigerator and square dining table. On each floor of the buildings there is a shared kitchen, toilets and showers. Nearby there are recreational facilities, a computer center at the Jester Center, a supermarket, restaurant and a hairdresser (located in building 106). Renovated Apartments (known as ‘Meshupazim’)
The dormitory apartments known on campus as ‘Meshupazim’ are for second to fourth year undergraduate students. These dormitories, located in the lower campus residence complex, offer shared apartments with single rooms. DeJour Dormitories (known as ‘Meonot HaAmim’)
The Technion Societies Dormitories are reserved for single undergraduate students, located in the upper campus area – please refer to the following maps: Google map; Campus map (pdf). Students share a split-level double room. Each resident is provided with TV and WiFi connections and the following furnishings: a bed (mattress included), desk, chair, wardrobe closet, refrigerator and square dining table. On each floor of the buildings there is a shared kitchen, toilets and showers. Central air-conditioning and heating is installed in the dorms. The nearest laundromats are located at the Senate Dormitory complex, in the basement of buildings 153 and 159, and in the American Technion Society Village I Dorm complex (‘Neve America’), in the basement of building 127. Senate Dormitory Complex
The Senate dormitory complex accommodates both single and married undergraduate students and is located in the upper campus area – please refer to the following maps: Google map; Campus map (pdf).
Singles Dorms: three-bedroom apartments shared by six students (two students to a room). Each apartment has a kitchen (with a refrigerator and stove), dining area (dining table with table and chairs), toilets and showers, which are shared by all occupants. Each resident is provided with TV and WiFi connections and the following furnishings: a bed (mattress included), desk, chair, and wardrobe closet.
Couples Dorms: one-bedroom apartments are offered to student couples. Each apartment has a bedroom, kitchenette/ living room space and a bathroom, and is furnished with a twin bed (mattress included), desk, chair, and wardrobe closet, refrigerator, stove top (gas or electrical) and a dining table and chairs. Each apartment has a separate entrance and some of them have balconies. All of the apartments have TV and WiFi connections and air-conditioning (students are responsible for their energy consumption). A laundromat is located in the basement of buildings 153 and 159 of the building complex.

American Technion Society Village I, known as ‘Neve America’
The dormitory complex accommodates single undergraduate and graduate students and is located in the upper campus area – please refer to the following maps: Google map; Campus map (pdf).
Each apartment offers single rooms and accommodates between 5-6 students. Occupants share a kitchen (with a refrigerator and stove top (gas or electric)), living room area (furnished with two couches, a coffee table and dining table and chairs) and bathroom and shower facilities. Each resident is provided with the following furnishings: a bed (mattress included), desk, chair, and wardrobe closet. All of the apartments have TV and WiFi connections and air-conditioning (students are responsible for their energy consumption). A laundromat is located in the basement of building 127.

American Technion Society Village II, known as ‘Shalon’ and ‘Palm Beach’

Each apartment offers 5 single rooms. Occupants share a kitchen (with a refrigerator and stove top (gas or electric)), living room area (with furnishings and dining table and chairs) and bathroom and shower facilities. Each room is furnished with a bed (mattress included), desk, chair, and wardrobe closet. All of the apartments have TV and WiFi connections; air-conditioning is being installed in all apartments (students will be responsible for their energy consumption). A laundromat is located in the basement of building 936.

The apartment complex is for undergraduate couples and families, and is located behind the Technion Swimming Pool in buildings 960-961 – please refer to the following maps: Google map; Campus map. Both multi-story buildings accommodate student couples and families only. Each apartment consists of a bedroom, kitchenette, living room and bathroom and is furnished with a twin bed (mattress included), wardrobe closet, desk, dining table and chairs, couch, shelves and kitchen cabinets. All of the apartments have TV and WiFi connections. A laundromat is located on the third floor of both buildings (960 and 961).

The complex offers accommodations ranging from two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, although the vast majority are three-bedrooms. There is a large playground with modern facilities in between the buildings.
